In 1932 the Summer and Winter Olympics were held in the same country. American Eddie Eagan is the only person to have won gold medals in both the Summer and Winter Games in different events. He was a boxing champion in the 1920 Antwerp Games, and also won gold at the 1932 Lake Placid Games in the team bobsled event.
